CHAIN DLK (4/5)

2005 is going to be an important year for Ambassador 21. They are touring all across the Europe, releasing records (for their personal label as CD-r and on vinyl for Restroom Records) and collaborating with a lot of people of the industrial breakcore scene. Their hyperactivity is a sign of vitality and an expression of will for two people that live in a particular country (you can read more on the interview I did few months ago). This new release AKCIJA V1.1 is a remixed version of their album "Akcija" commissioned to different bands. To tell the truth AKCIJA V1.1 isn't an exact version of the original album, because the tracklist is slightly different because some remixers took tracks coming from "Ambassador 21 Vs the world" and from the split CD with Buben. If the original version of the tracks where mostrly focused on the punk/breakcore front, the remixed versions reflect the style of the remixer (smart thought, isn't it? :) ) so we pass from rhythm based industrialism to experimental ambience, noise core and '80s techno. The remixers are: Aphasic, C-Drink, Synascape, End, Cdatakill, P.A.L., Hansel, Not Half, Roger Rotor, Wilt, Axiome, Fragment King, Mothboy, CTRLer, Converter and Projecto Mirage. You know what you can find on this CD: tension, noise, rhythm and riot!

Belaruse's very own duo of distorted destruction AMBASSADOR21 follow their last full-length album "Akcija" with a hard hitting remix album titled "Akcija V1.1". Chock full of break beats, blips, skips and ear piercing distortion this disc packs a noise filled wallup. As with all Invasion Wreck Chords releases, this album is a niche oriented outing as the tracks on this album will only appeal to those who love a lot of snap, crackle and pop in their music. Some of the bands that tried their hand at remixing this ATARI TEENAGE RIOT like act are SYNAPSCAPE, CONVERTER, P*A*L, CDATAKILL, and PROYECTO MIRAGE. The result is harsh beat noise that is heightened to another level of loud by the screamed vocals of A21 members Natasha and Alexey a.k.a. DJ J. Christ. Some of the best tracks on this album are "Whip Song (remix by END)," which is a study in fast break beats and heavy guitar skips and loops, "FM Must Die (remix by NOT HALF)," which takes deep bass thumps and melds them with airy synths, heavy guitars and of course screamed vocals which create a completely confused piece of noise tom-foolery, and "Zombie (remix by ROGER ROTOR)," which takes bass drones to a new level as they are constant throughout the track like a synth lead which creates an incredible stage for the disorder that AMBASSADOR21's vocals invoke. Surprisingly the tracks that are the weakest on this remix album are the ones from the bigger name bands such as SYNAPSCAPE and P*A*L. The only exception to this observation would be CONVERTER's mix of "New Doctrine About Trinity," whose collaborations with A21 can also be found on a limited edition online only release of an updated mix of the same track. I guess this just goes to show that big name bands don't always make the best music. This remix album is a great piece of noise chicanery and should be listened to at high volumes for all those who can stomach some thump and crunch on their eardrums.

Akcija ovvero "carica".
